Food For Thought
Did you know that there are foods you eat
daily that are beneficial for improving digestion,
preventing cardiovascular disease, enhancing
weight-loss and supporting urinary function?
Foods such as garlic, parsley and cranberries
provide your body with key nutrients that are
essential for optimum health.
Garlic is considered nature's very
own antibiotic. Unlike most antibiotics, garlic
will not deplete the body of flora, and is
considered to be the cure-all herb because of
its effectiveness on the entire body. Rich in
potassium, zinc, selenium, vitamin A and
Vitamin C,
garlic is commonly used to improve digestion,
fight infection, increase circulation and help
prevent cardiovascular disease.
Parsley is a rich source of calcium,
iron, riboflavin, potassium, thiamine, vitamin A,
Vitamin C
and trace amounts of niacin. Parsley is commonly
known for being a great digestive aid and breath
freshener. It has a high content of odor-absorbing
and oxygenating chlorophyll. In fact, parsley is
commonly used in herbal combination formulas for
weight loss, and supplements that support the
kidneys, liver, thyroid and other glandular
systems.
Cranberries have been used for hundreds
of years to promote urinary tract health, because they
contain substances which alter the bacteria population
in urine. The substances found in the juice of cranberries
seems to make harmful bacteria less likely to cling to
the surface of cells in the urinary tract.
